General

Tradition of our society dates back to 1919 when the first Local Association of the Czechoslovak Red Cross was founded in Hradcany by daughter of first Czechoslovakia president Dr. Alice Masarykova. Regional Red Cross Society Prague 1 resumed its separate activities in December 2006, having previously worked 10 years in the common OS CCK Prague 7 and 1. Since 2011, it joined the Regional Red Cross Society Prague 2.

The Czech Red Cross is the only internationally ratified National Red Cross Society in the Czech Republic which has been recognized by the state. We are proud members of global family of 97 million volunteers worldwide working together for humanity all around the world.

In our work we follow 7 principles of the IRCM: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, universality. At present, the Czech Red Cross has 46,882 members working in 1,299 local groups in 76 societies.

The Regional Red Cross Society Prague 1 now consists of five local groups with members of all ages with range from young paramedics groups to seniors open club. Our members can also join specialized groups – Blood Donors Club and Disaster preparedness team.

Structure

The association is managed by the regional executive council. All activities of the Council are supervised by a three-member Supervisory Board.

Professional background of the association is provided by the OS CCK Prague 1 Office, headed by director.

Our offer for English speaking community in Prague:

For the whole English speaking community in Prague including expats, international companies and embassies we offer courses of first aid in English (suitable also as legally required first aid trained of employees). We also offer English speaking personnel for mediacal surveillance.
